West Ham fans slated new loan signing Enner Valencia on Twitter following his display in their 2-0 League Cup defeat to Norwich.

Valencia made his full debut for the Toffees on Tuesday night following his move from West Ham in the summer transfer window.

The Ecuadorian striker will be playing second-fiddle to Romelu Lukaku this season as Everton's man to lead the line, but will be expected to chip in with a decent amount of goals as their main back-up.

The Merseyside club crashed out of the League Cup despite naming a relatively strong starting XI.

Steven Naismith bagged the opening goal for the Canaries, as he came back to haunt his former side, and Everton fans claimed their club should have signed a higher quality front man than Valencia.

Here is a selection of the messages from fans on Twitter:

The versatile attacker had two mixed seasons with West Ham since joining from Pachuca in 2014 for £12 million, scoring just 10 goals in 70 appearances for the club.
