Everton are to make a new concerted push to sign Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal this summer, according to a report.

French outlet RMC Sport claim the cash-rich Merseysiders will reignite their bid to prise the attacker after failing with bids to land him last summer and in January.

The Sun claim Everton agreed a £12million fee for Ghezzal last summer but he rejected the move because he wanted to join a bigger club.

It is said the Premier League outfit returned to the negotiating table in January by offering a £100,000-a-week contract.

Everton hold the Algeria international, 24, in high regard and are also well aware his contract with Lyon expires in the summer.

RMC Sport report the English club "still hope" to sign Ghezzal at the end of the season.

Ghezzal, who is predominantly used on the right wing, has a reputation as one of the most inventive players in the French league.

He has scored two goals and supplied seven assists in 32 matches for Lyon this season after a sensational 2015/16 campaign that yielded 10 goals and nine assists in 38 appearances for the club.

In total, he has made 1113 appearances for Lyon, scoring 13 goals and providing 20 assists.

Koeman is said to be on the lookout for a wide attacking player as Barcelona push ahead with plans to re-sign Gerard Deulofeu this summer, and losing Yannick Bolasie to a knee injury that is expected to sideline him until 2018.
