Everton attacker Kevin Mirallas has had his loan deal at Olympiakos terminated early, according to a reliable journalist.

HLN reporter Kristof Terreur claimed on his personal Twitter account on Friday that Mirallas, 30, has returned to Goodison Park earlier than expected as his loan deal in Greece was due to expire at the end of the season.

It is understood that the senior player's deal was torn up due to his poor performances with Olympiakos, who still have one more game left to play this season against Giannina on Sunday.

Football Insider verdict

Mirallas' has had a bit of a shocker this season and will he surely be looking to move on in the summer to revive his career. He had been a mainstay for Olympiakos since joining them on loan in January, appearing 15 times across all competitions. He chipped in with two goals, but it's clear that the Greek giants deemed it necessary to send him back to Merseyside early. Steve Walsh and co will now have a big decision to make on Mirallas this summer. Having his deal at Olympiakos ripped up will damage his chances of getting a decent move in the summer. He has two years left on his deal at Goodison, but there's little chance of getting a decent fee for him. Someone should be interest in the Belgian, but probably not anyone with a good amount of money. Could a return to Belgium be on the cards? Time will tell but it's a shame to see how the player's season has gone down the well.
