Everton want to make Marko Arnautovic Ronald Koeman's first signing as manager and have been encouraged by the news of a £13million release clause, according to a report.

Koeman was finally confirmed as Everton manager on Wednesday after weeks of negotiations between Southampton and the Toffees and the Dutchman is reported to have been given almost £100million in transfer funds.

The Sun claim Stoke's dynamic winger Arnautovic is top of the new boss' wishlist and are eager to be the first of the player's potential suitors to make a formal bid.

The Toffees will have to wait to make their move with Arnautovic insisting he will put his future on hold until after his Euro 2016 commitments with Austria are over.

"I cannot say if I will still be at Stoke after the summer but my goal is to stay in England," said Arnautovic speaking to reporters, as quoted by the Sun.

"That is where I feel comfortable and where I have performed well."

Arnautovic has entered the final year of his contract with Stoke and has rejected their offer for a fresh deal.

The left-winger was in fantastic form this season with eleven goals from the flank and a further six assists in 34 Premier League appearances for Stoke.

The 27-year-old arrived from Werder Bremen for just £2.6million in 2013 and had the £13million release clause inserted into that contract.
