Brentford have agreed a £3 million double deal for Oxford United duo Tarique Fosu-Henry and Shandon Baptiste, Football Insider understands.

The pair are expected to undergo medicals at Griffin Park today ahead of late moves to the Championship side.

A Brentford source told Football Insider that the promotion hopefuls are determined to bolster their midfield options before the transfer window closes, and they have lined up a double swoop for the highly-rated League One talents.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank
Winger Fosu-Henry has impressed for Oxford this season, with 10 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions after having signed from Charlton last summer.

For his part, central midfielder Baptiste is regarded as one of the best young talents in the Football League following a number of eye-catching performances for United.

The pair have shone against Premier League duo West Ham and Manchester City in Oxford's run to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and they helped Oxford claim a draw with Newcastle United in last weekend's FA Cup clash at St. James' Park in yet another display of their potential quality.

Both players are young, with Fosu-Henry aged 24 and Baptiste still only 21.

Between them they have 57 appearances for the Yellows so far this term.

Brentford are currently in fifth spot in the Championship, six points outside the automatic promotion spots, and they see Fosu-Henry and Baptiste as additions who can help fire their promotion bid.

Losing the duo is a big blow to Oxford who are also expected to be busy in the final hours of the transfer window in an effort to try and replace them.
