Everton have set their sights on signing Napoli star Scott McTominay, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseyside club have an interest in the former Manchester United midfielder as they assess potential midfield options.

Sources say Everton boss David Moyes sees McTominay as a talismanic presence in the mould of his former totem Marouane Fellaini, with the ability to get forward and cause chaos in the opposition box.

McTominay, 28, has been a big success in Serie A since joining in 2024 and has a contract at Napoli until the summer of 2028.

Scott McTominay has developed into goalscorer at Napoli

McTominay completed a move from boyhood club Man United to Napoli in the summer of 2024, and his first campaign with the Italian side was one to remember.

Playing in a more advanced role and given the licence to make runs into the box, the 28-year-old scored an impressive 12 league goals as Antonio Conte's side pipped Inter Milan to the title.

The Scotland international was also named Serie A Player of the Season, highlighting the impact he had following his switch to Italy.

Now, Everton are looking to lure McTominay away from Napoli, with the Toffees hoping he will return to the Premier League and continue his stunning form back in England.

The Man United academy graduate is out of contract at the Hill Dickinson Stadium next summer, and his future with the Toffees is up in the air.

Sources say that Villa and Forest have now registered their interest in Garner, 24, ahead of the January transfer window.

It comes after Football Insider revealed on 12 November that Newcastle are keeping tabs on Garner as they look to reinforce their own midfield ranks.
