Hull City are ready to offer non-league sensation Ben Dyer a deal at the club after he impressed on trial, sources have told Football Insider.

Doncaster City attacker Dyer was invited on trial by Hull after catching the eye for City in the Northern Counties East League Division One.

The 18-year-old impressed for Hull's Under-21s during his trial, with two assists in a 4-1 win over Crewe, and Hull are ready to offer him a deal.

The Tigers' head of player development, Andy Dawson, has been keeping a close eye on the forward before inviting him to spend time with the Under-21s.

City recently shared the club's delight of having seen one of their young players flourish at a higher level, taking to social media to express their pride in his development.

Hull City plan to offer trialist Ben Dyer a permanent contract

Doncaster City have endured a mixed start to their season so far, and currently sit 15th in the league following a 4-0 defeat to Wakefield on 15 October.

However, seeing one of their young prospects step up into the EFL via Hull's Under-21 side has come as a boost to the whole club in recent weeks.

Hull, meanwhile, have a history of signing young players from lower divisions, and Dyer will look at Jarrod Bowen as inspiration, with the England international having made his name at Hull after a move from non-league Hereford United.

The Tigers have had a slow start in the Championship, with three wins, three draws and three defeats from nine games placing them 15th in the table.

Hull recruitment focus on display amid Championship battle

Hull are stepping up their recruitment of younger players, looking to add to their Under-18 and Under-21 sides as well as the senior side to build a stronger squad for the future.

Recent additions of the likes of Darko Gyabi, Abu Kamara and Mason Burstow have shown their new focus in action despite a downturn of results on the pitch.

The Tigers are now focused on turning around their turbulent start to the season and pushing towards the top half of the Championship table.

At Under-21 level, they sit in sixth place in the Professional Development League and are hoping to build on what has been a strong start to the season.
