'Massive' - Exclusive: Hutton claims there's talk of Rangers agreeing new deal

Alan Hutton has claimed Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack may sign a new contract with the club after becoming a "massive" part of the team.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O'Leary, the former Rangers full-back shared that he thought the 27-year-old had gone from strength to strength in recent times in order to become one of Steven Gerrard's main players.
Rangers are believed to want to give Jack a new long-term contract with Gerrard even publicly admitting that if any one of his players deserved a pay rise it would be the midfielder.
Hutton hopes Jack is set to stay at Ibrox for the long-haul also added that he thought the midfielder should now be aiming to become one of Scotland's main players.
When asked how important Jack is to Rangers, Hutton told Football Insider: "Obviously due to his performances, there is now talk of a new contract which he thoroughly deserves.
"He's a massive part of the team and he has taken to it really well, as I've said with the new contract and stuff, he'll believe he is one of the main players now and he's gone from strength to strength.
"He's one of the first names on the teamsheet and his aim now is to kick-on and be the same for Scotland by being one of their main players.
"So hopefully he signs a new deal and can hopefully help Rangers stop Celtic."
In his 2019/20 campaign, Jack has featured 13 times across all competitions and has managed to contribute one goal in the process.
The defensive-minded midfielder joined the Gers from Aberdeen in 2017 and his current contract isn't set to expire until 2021.
