Coventry City midfielder Kai Andrews has agreed a loan move to Motherwell, sources have told Football Insider.

A full medical is imminent after the loan offer has been accepted, with this expected to be the final hurdle in the potential deal.

A full agreement between the clubs has taken place and the transfer is expected to be announced soon.

The 18-year-old central midfielder is under contract with the Sky Blues until 2026 but is now set to spend the remainder of this campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

This will be the first time that Andrews has left the football club as he searches for regular playing time to progress his career.

The Wales Under-19s international hasn’t made a single appearance for Coventry this season, with neither Frank Lampard nor former manager Mark Robins giving him a chance.

Kai Andrews will search for game time at Motherwell

Andrews has found himself as an unused substitute in 13 of Coventry’s 26 Championship fixtures this season and in two of their three cup fixtures.

A move to Fir Park will be done in a bid to try and gain more regular playing time for him, which he needs to kickstart his career.

Andrews signed his first professional contract in January 2024 and managed to make his debut for the club in August of last season.
