Luton Town have now had a £1.5m bid for Exeter City attacker Millenic Alli accepted, sources have told Football Insider.

Luton had been keen to sign a striker in the final days of the January transfer window, and had made multiple bids for Wycombe striker Richard Kone.

The latest bid of £6million was rejected, forcing the Hatters to instead turn their attention towards Alli.

The former Halifax Town striker had drawn attention from Bristol City, Cardiff and Blackburn in the summer, after a strong finish to the 2023/24 season.

Luton sign Millenic Alli for new manager Matt Bloomfield after goal-scoring troubles

Alli's versatility will be a major bonus for new boss Bloomfield, as the striker is comfortable playing on both the right and left-wings.

Kone was seen as an upgrade to the options that the Hatters currently have, as Carlton Morris leads the goal-scoring charts for the Hatters with just seven goals this season.

The Wycombe striker has netter 16 times in League One, and has experience working under Bloomfield, but Luton have so far been unable to agree a deal.

Alli does not have the same impressive goal-scoring record, but his run of four goals in three games bode well for Luton fans.

Bloomfield now has the task of dragging the Hatters out of the relegation places in the Championship, just one year after they had been playing Premier League football.
