Reading have rejected a £500,000 bid from Oxford United for Charlie Savage, sources have told Football Insider.

It is understood that the Royals’ valuation of the 22-year-old central midfielder is a lot higher.

Reading manager Leam Richardson regards the Wales international as an important player in his squad as they look to win promotion back to the Championship this season.

So far this season, the midfielder has played 27 times in all competitions, scoring twice and collecting one assist.

Charlie Savage continues to be of interest to Championship outfits

Football Insider revealed in the summer that Savage was wanted by multiple Championship outfits after an impressive 2024-25 campaign.
