Rob Edwards is targeting a striker and a winger signing at Wolves in the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Edwards has been confirmed as the new Wolves boss after deciding to leave his role at Middlesbrough just months after joining the Championship club.

The 42-year-old will take charge of his first game on Saturday (22 November) as the Old Gold face Crystal Palace.

With the January transfer window approaching, sources say that Wolves want to sign a centre forward and a wide attacker to aid their Premier League survival push.

Wolves to address attacking issues

Wolves sit rock bottom of the Premier League, and are already eight points adrift of safety after just 11 games of the new campaign.

Unsurprisingly, the Midlands side have scored the fewest goals out of any top-flight team, finding the back of the net just seven times this season.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was linked with Newcastle United over the summer and has struggled with fitness and form so far in 2025-26.

Edwards is eager to bring in a centre-forward and a winger to help reinvigorate the Wolves attack and address their lack of goals.

Wolves eye Premier League duo

Meanwhile, Wolves have set their sights on both Kalvin Phillips and Dwight McNeil ahead of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands side will explore both loan and permanent deals as they try to secure the Premier League duo.

Last month, Football Insider revealed that Phillips is set to leave Manchester City in January in search of game time.

McNeil has also struggled for minutes in recent times and has yet to start in the Premier League for Everton this season.
