UD Logrones have agreed a deal to sign Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Bogusz, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The Spanish second-tier club are set to beat off competition from English trio Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Gillingham to land the Poland Under-21 international today.

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that Bogusz is heading to Logrones on a season-long loan after being given permission to leave.

This site broke the news at the end of last week that United had given the 19-year-old the green light to go out on loan.

Portsmouth, Swindon and Gillingham, who all play in the third tier, have contacted Leeds about a potential deal for Bogusz.

But terms have now been agreed with Logrones, who are expected to finalise the deal ahead of the Monday night transfer deadline.

United are keen for the teenager to get some senior experience and want him to be playing regularly.

Bogusz, who turned 19 in August, has made it clear to TVP Sport he does not want another season in the Under-23s.

The Poland Under-21 international has made a big impression at Elland Road since signing aged 17 in January of last year on a two-and-a-half year deal from Ruch Chorzow in his homeland.

The versatile midfielder was named in the Leeds Under-23s side that defeated Middlesbrough 1-0 through a Sam Greenwood goal.

Leeds have agreed a number of loan deals for the young and emerging players in recent weeks, with defender Byrce Hosannah becoming the latest when he joined League Two outfit Bradford City earlier this week.
