Tottenham are keeping tabs on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as Chelsea accelerate talks, sources have told Football Insider.

Chelsea are in negotiations to sign Osimhen, 25 in a cash-plus-player exchange that would see Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku head the other way.

Spurs are also in the market for an A-list striker after failing to replace Harry Kane last season and have asked to be kept informed on Osimhen's situation.

The north London club would be willing to offer their own players in exchange for the Nigeria international.

Ange Postecoglu is said to be "obsessed" with signing a new forward this season and the club have also been linked with a move for Lille striker Jonathan David.

Tottenham keeping tabs on Victor Osimhen deal

Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020 Osimhen has established himself as one of the world's best strikers, scoring an impressive 76 goals in 133 appearances.

Osimhen was one of the main figureheads at the club as they secured their first Serie A title since the days of Diego Maradona in 2022-23 - the striker scored 31 times in 39 appearances.

last season wasn't quite as fruitful for Osimhen or Napoli after the club's disastrous title defence that saw them finish 10th and the forward score just 15 Serie A goals.

Fifteen league goals may not have been impressive by Osimhen's standards but that's just two less than Spurs' top goal scorer in all competitions last season.

South Korean forward Son Heung-Min ended the campaign with 17 goals which is five more than current number nine Richarlison who scored 12.
