Tottenham striker Troy Parrott is travelling to Holland for a medical with AZ Alkmaar after agreeing the terms, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old will join the Dutch club on a permanent contract, and sources say the transfer is worth a seven-figure fee.

Spurs have given the green light for Parrott to head to the Netherlands and put the finishing touches to a deal that will bring an end to his career at the club.

Parrott’s current Spurs deal was set to expire next summer, but the Premier League side have opted to cash in on him in this window.

The Irish striker initially joined Tottenham in 2017 for an undisclosed fee from Belvedere but has spent most of his career on loan at various clubs.

Last season Parrott played in the Eredivisie for Excelsior Rotterdam, where his performances caught the eye of AZ Alkmaar.

Tottenham will be losing a promising young forward in Troy Parrott

Parrott thrived during his season in the Dutch top flight, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in his 25 Eredivisie appearances.

Scoring goals has been a theme of his career wherever he’s gone on loan, as he also boasts 10 League One goals in 59 appearances.

However, Parrott’s opportunities at Tottenham have been limited in the first team, featuring just four times over the years.

Tottenham want to sign Ivan Toney

Despite letting Parrott leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs are in the market for a striker this summer.
