West Bromwich Albion are set to lodge a loan bid for Chelsea rising star Ola Aina, Football Insider sources understands.

West Brom are desperate to bring in a new right-back and have switched their attentions to the young defender after seeing a move for Yeovil's Tom James fall through at the last minute.

Aina, 21, is well down the pecking order at Chelsea and a well-placed source has told Football Insider the club feel he would benefit from going out on loan again and the Baggies are ready to offer him that opportunity of continuing his development at the Hawthorns.

Aina spent last season out on loan in the Championship with Hull where he made 45 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers.

The Nigeria international impressed during his stint at Hull helping the club secure survival and West Brom are now hoping to take the defender on loan for the new season.

Aina has come through the ranks at Chelsea and his move to Hull was his first loan move away from Stamford Bridge.
