Feyenoord forward Zepiqueno Redmond will undergo a medical at Aston Villa early next week, sources have told Football Insider.

The 18-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with Villa and will join on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Feyenoord.

Unai Emery and Monchi believe the Netherlands youth international can become as successful as Jhon Duran, the last teenage striker they signed.

Duran was sold for around £64million to Al Nassr in the mid-season transfer window after a successful two-year spell at Villa Park.

Redmond set to wrap up Aston Villa switch

Meanwhile, Redmond has shown big promise for Eredivisie giants Feyenoord this term.

The teenager made his league, cup and Champions League debuts in the 2024-25 campaign - scoring two goals in nine appearances and just 346 minutes.

Emery's side missed out on Champions League football this term.

He can lead the line, play on both flanks and star as an attacking midfielder - with his versatility likely to be useful under Emery next term.

Football Insider revealed last month (22 April) that Tottenham and Bournemouth were keen on Redmond - but it is Villa who are now set to win the race.

The Midlands giants finished sixth in the Premier League last week and will play Europa League football next term after missing out on a top-five finish on goal difference.

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (23 May) that Aston Villa, West Ham and Leeds are eyeing moves for Southampton midfielder Matheus Fernandes.

Fernandes, 20, was one of the relegated club’s shining lights in a disappointing Premier League campaign.

Southampton face a losing fight to keep hold of Fernandes following relegation, with the club valuing him around £25million.
