Rangers have rejected multiple bids for defender George Edmundson, Football Insider understands.

The centre-back was loaned out to Derby County at the end of the January window.

A Rangers source has told Football Insider English clubs are keen on taking advantage of Edmundson slipping down the Ibrox pecking order.

It is understood a number of English sides have lodged bids for Edmundson but Rangers have rejected them so far.

Edmundson, 23, joined Derby in January after he was banned by both Rangers and the Scottish FA for breaking Covid rules.

The defender and teammate Jordan Jones were both slapped with seven-game bans for attending a party during lockdown.

Edmundson had only made one appearance during the 2020/21 season at the time he was banned.

He came off the bench to score an own goal in the Gers' 5-1 win over Motherwell in September 2020.

The defender hasn't played for Rangers since but featured heavily as Derby attempted to avoid relegation.

Edmundson made 10 appearances for the Rams and started the club's dramatic final day 3-3 draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Ultimately, this result was enough to keep Derby in the Championship.

Despite his ban and subsequent loan, Rangers have rejected several bids from English sides.

The Gers have plenty of depth in Edmundson's position with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun, Jack Simpson and Nikola Katic all set to be available next season.

Edmundson moved to Ibrox from Oldham Atheltic in 2019 and has made 17 total appearances for the club.
