Man United fear Tottenham could block their summer move to sign striker Harry Kane, sources have told Football Insider.

This site revealed on Tuesday that the 29-year-old is the “number one priority and top target” for Erik ten Hag's side.

However, sources with knowledge of the situation have told Football Insider that Man United are wary of dealing with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Levy has earned a reputation for being notoriously difficult to deal with and has often inserted clauses at the eleventh hour in previous high-profile talks.

It is believed that Kane is seen by Man United chiefs as the “difference maker” who will help them bridge the gap to Man City and allow them to compete for the Premier League title in the coming seasons.

The England captain is out of contract in just over 12 months, and United have been encouraged by his reluctance to commit to a new Spurs deal.
