Ipswich Town have agreed a £35million double deal to sign Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene from Hull City, sources have told Football Insider.

Greaves, 23, is now set to undergo his medical on Monday (8 July) after agreeing terms on a five-year contract at the Tractor Boys' training ground.

There has also been progress in overnight talks with Philogene with Ipswich now set to win the race for the 22-year-old winger.

The club are now confident that the duo will be signed on a double deal in the coming days.

Ipswich won promotion from the Championship by finishing second last time out and have immediately moved to strengthen their squad ahead of the Premier League season.

Having already completed the club-record signing of Omari Hutchinson after his successful loan spell, as well as the free transfer of Ben Johnson from West Ham, Kieran McKenna is looking for further reinforcements.

Both Greaves and Philogene caught the eye with their performances in the Championship as Hull narrowly missed out on the playoffs.

The winger scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 32 appearances, while the centre-back's defensive ability has earned him high acclaim from those within the game.

McKenna has targeted young players to improve his squad so far this summer, and with Greaves and Philogene 22 and 23 respectively, this trend looks set to continue.

There has been widespread interest in the pair from across the Premier League, but Ipswich have moved quickly to beat rivals to the deals.
