Swansea City striker Jerry Yates is undergoing a medical at Derby County on Monday (1 July), sources have told Football Insider.

The 27-year-old has agreed to join the newly-promoted Rams on loan.

Yates is poised to become Derby's third signing of the summer window after the arrivals of Ben Osborn and Corey Blackett-Taylor on free transfers.

The Swansea ace joined the Welsh club just last summer (2023) for a reported fee of around £2.5million.

But he is already heading towards the exit door, bound for Derby on a loan basis.

Yates made 46 appearances across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign, with 26 of those outings coming as part of the starting lineup.

He scored just nine goals and provided one assist in those outings.

Yates, who is under contract in Wales until June 2026, is an experienced operator at Championship level.

The 27-year-old has made 152 appearances in the second tier across spells with Rotherham, Swansea and Blackpool - scoring 31 goals.

He has also played in League One and League Two, with his most prolific season coming at Blackpool - when he scored 20 league goals in the 2020-21 campaign.

Derby finished second in the third tier under Paul Warne last term to secure a return to the Championship.
