Joao Felix will undergo a Chelsea medical on Tuesday after reaching a full agreement over a deal, sources have told Football Insider.

The fee agreed between the London giants and Atletico Madrid for the playmaker is understood to be £42million fixed, plus an additional £4.3million in add-ons, which could make the deal eventually worth in excess of £46million.

The 24-year-old is in line to become Chelsea’s ninth summer signing following the arrivals of Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Aaron Anselmino, and Pedro Neto.

Signing Felix is also expected to facilitate Conor Gallagher’s move in the opposite direction after a delay.

Felix's move to the Premier League giants should provide the La Liga outfit with the finances to buy Gallagher as his Chelsea career comes to an end.

Chelsea are ready to welcome back Joao Felix

Felix is no stranger to Stamford Bridge after spending the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at the club.

The Portugal international made 16 Premier League appearances for the Blues, scoring four times during that stint.

Felix also spent last season on loan at Barcelona where he played 44 times in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.

Chelsea are also preparing for several outgoings before the transfer window closes as Enzo Maresca looks to trim his inflated squad.
