Fabian Hurzeler is vying to build a Brighton squad who are capable of landing yet another top-half finish in the Premier League.

Ahead of the fast-approaching top-flight campaign, Brighton have signed Charalampos Kostoulas from Olympiacos.

The Seagulls will hope that the 18-year-old can deliver in the Premier League after losing Joao Pedro to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Julio Enciso's future is yet to be decided after he spent last season on loan with Ipswich Town.

Enciso was unable to prevent the Tractor Boys suffering relegation back to the Championship, despite notching two goals and three assists in just 13 Premier League appearances.

The 21-year-old featured in two World Cup qualifiers for Paraguay in June, before suffering a knee injury.

Meanwhile, The Athletic's live blog on Thursday, 14 August, revealed: "Julio Enciso is returning to England next week to resume training with Brighton & Hove Albion ahead of a possible move before the transfer window shuts.

"The 21-year-old is at home in Paraguay, working with Brighton's authorisation on his recovery from knee surgery in Argentina in late July.

"Enciso's length of absence was initially expected to rule out a move until January, but he has made good progress from a minor procedure on his left knee."

Football Insider verdict

Hurzeler successfully helped Brighton further establish themselves as a top-half outfit in the Premier League, after succeeding Roberto De Zerbi on the South Coast.

Meanwhile, Enciso has suffered a pattern of knee injuries, proving that he isn't capable of helping Hurzeler's side make further progress.

Furthermore, as reported by The Athletic in July, the Brighton boss left the Paraguay international out of two matches last December before his loan move to Ipswich in January due to his attitude in training.

Such incidents show that Enciso could be a disruptive figure in the Seagulls dressing room, adding further reason for the South Coast club to sanction his exit before the summer transfer window closes.

Meanwhile, Kaoru Mitoma remains at Brighton despite interest from Bayern Munich, scuppering Enciso's chances of enjoying game time for Hurzeler's men, while he is a potential option on the left wing as well as in the 'number 10' role.

The Seagulls also coped well without the Paraguayan throughout his time with Ipswich.
