Bayern Munich are set to return with a third bid for Newcastle United star Kieran Trippier, sources have told Football Insider.

Newcastle have already rejected two offers but the German giants are not giving up on their top right-back target.

It is believed Trippier, 33, has already agreed terms on a move to Bavaria and is "very keen" to make the switch before the 1 February deadline.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the right-back has been "sold" on Thomas Tuchel's vision.

However, sources say Eddie Howe does not want to lose Trippier this month and regards the ex-Tottenham star as absolutely key to the rest of the 2023-24 campaign.

Trippier, who has often worn the captain’s armband for Howe’s side, has notched eight assists across 28 games in all competitions so far in the 2023-24 campaign.

The England star has attracted criticism from his own fans and pundits alike for a string of costly errors in recent weeks with Newcastle suffering a slump in form.

He clashed with supporters away at Bournemouth after the Magpies were defeated 2-0 on the south coast in November.

Trippier, who joined the Tynesiders in 2022, is under contract at St James’ Park until June 2025.

He would leave Tino Livramento and Emil Krafth as right-back options for Howe's side if he were to depart before the 1 February transfer deadline.
