Kodjia shares thoughts on new Aston Villa signings, fans will love this

Jonathan Kodjia has stated that the new January signings at Aston Villa look like "even better players" than their predecessors.

The 27-year-old striker has recently returned from international duty where he was taking part in the Africa Cup of Nations for the Ivory Coast.

During his absence, Villa have been busy adding new reinforcements to their squad as they bid to close the gap on the top six in the Championship.

Sam Johnstone, Henri Lansbury, James Bree, Birkir Bjarnason and Conor Hourihane were the players purchased by the Midlands club.

Upon his return to Bodymoor Heath, the club's chief executive Keith Wyness welcomed back Kodjia on his personal Twitter account by stating, he has "new teammates to meet".

The Villa fans will love Kodjia's response as he seems to suggest that the new signings are already better players than those previously at the club.

"It's good to be back," said Kodjia, as posted on his personal Twitter account. "Great to meet the new boys, they sound like great lads and look like even better players. It should be fun."

Goalkeeper Johnstone was the first to walk through the doors, he signed on loan from Manchester United and made his debut during the FA Cup defeat against Tottenham.

Midfielder Henri Lansbury soon followed as he made a switch from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest as did Barnsley duo Bree and Hourihane.

Basel midfielder Bjarnason was another addition as the Icelandic international will be looking to provide Kodjia with the much-needed service he has been craving all season.
