Leeds are set to sign an unnamed winger just a day after losing star man Lewis Cook to Bournemouth, according to a report.

Football Insider reported on Friday that Cook had been signed by Bournemouth for £7million despite their best efforts to retain the midfielder.

However, Radio Yorkshire presenter Joe Rawson has claimed on his personal Twitter account that Leeds are closing in on the signature of a new winger.

Leeds have already announced the arrival of one winger in Hadi Sakho, who has joined on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

That signing was one of five made by the club in a whirlwind 10 days of business in which Matt Grimes, Rob Green, Kyle Bartley and Kemar Roofe also arrived at Elland Road.

Supporters are frustrated at losing the highly rated Cook 19, who was named the Football League Young Player of the Year for the 2015-16 season after beating off competition from fellow nominees Fulham striker Mousa Dembele and Walsall left-back Rico Henry to land the coveted gong.

Cook followed in the footsteps of the 2015 winner Dele Alli, who has gone onto receive international honours and wide acclaim in his first season at Tottenham. Gareth Bale (2007) and Fabian Delph (2009) are also internationally recognised previous winners of the award.
