Leeds United midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi has been axed from the Japan squad for their upcoming friendlies - and fans have taken to Twitter en masse to destroy the club over their treatment of the player.

The Championship giants signed 11-time Japan international Ideguchi from Gamba Osaka in January for a fee of around £500,000 before he was loaned straight out to Serie B side Cultural Leonesa.

Leeds initially decided to loan Ideguchi out to partner club Leonesa because they did not believe he would be granted a work permit immediately by the FA.

However, the 21-year-old did eventually receive the relevant paperwork but the loan deal went ahead as it had already been agreed in principle.

Leeds director of football Victor Orta explained the move to Spain as an opportunity for Ideguchi to get more game time and begin his adaptation to European football.

However, Ideguchi has so far been given just 107 minutes spread across five matches for Leonesa and he has not even made the squad for their last two fixtures.

This has prompted his omission from the latest Japan squad to face Ukraine and Mali in friendly matches in the forthcoming international break.

Leeds fans have now taken to Twitter to express their anger at what they claim was the club's blunder in loaning Ideguchi out to Spain.
