Leeds striker Marcus Antonsson says he wishes he had scored more goals since joining the club.

The forward, who signed for £2million from Swedish side Kalmar FF, has scored twice in five appearances for the club but admits he should have scored more.

“It feels good. I have made good achievements although I think I should have done a few more goals," he told Swedish newspaper Expressen.

“But I have taken my finishes in different styles. It was of course nice to score first. From experience, it gets easier. After you score first you just to push on from there.”

Antonsson arrived at Elland Road with a reputation as a potent finisher, and was the top goal-scorer in the Swedish top flight for Kalmar when he made the move to Leeds this summer.

He his in a battle with fellow striker Chris Wood for the role as leading striker, though boss Garry Monk has also opted to play two men up top.

The pair lined up together last weekend as Leeds beat Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 in the Championship, and both men got on the scoresheet.

Antonsson's other goal was an overhead kick in the 92nd minute of their first round tie against Fleetwood in the EFL Cup, a game the Yorkshire giants went on to win on penalties.
