Leeds United and Fulham are stepping up their interest in Bristol City defender Joe Bryan, Football Insider sources understand.

Byran is regarded as one of the best left-backs in the Championship after catching the eye at Bristol City for the last couple of seasons.

A City source has told Football Insider that the club have rejected several enquiries for Bryan already this summer with manager Lee Johnson keen to keep hold of his best players ahead of the new EFL season starting this weekend.

The 23-year-old has come up through the ranks with his hometown club and has racked up nearly 200 first-team appearances for the Robins in all competitions.

Bryan has played at left-back, left wing-back and even on the left of midfield during his time in the Bristol City side.

Leeds are in the market for a new left-back following Charlie Taylor's departure to Burnley earlier this month and they are now considering firming up their interest in Bryan.

Fulham are also looking for left-back reinforcements after seeing Scott Malone leave for Huddersfield Town and they have been keeping tabs on Bryan.
