Aberdeen sensation Calvin Ramsay will undergo a Liverpool medical in the coming days after agreeing terms, Football Insider understands.

The Premier League giants are close to securing a full agreement for the capture of the right-back, 18.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Liverpool have agreed a fee worth £4million including add-ons for Ramsay.

The deal is all but done with the two clubs negotiating the structure of the payments before Ramsay is granted permission to head down south for a medical.

That is expected to take place in time for him to be announced as a new Liverpool signing within the next days.

The Champions League finalists have won the race for the signature of Ramsay ahead of Leeds United, who are now completing their own right-back signing.

Rasmus Kristensen has agreed to join the Yorkshire giants from RB Salzburg and a deal is being finalised on Wednesday.

Ramsay has opted to join Liverpool ahead of Leeds even though the path to a first-team role is a more complicated one.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who Jurgen Klopp has claimed is the best in his position in Europe, is the undisputed first choice right-back at Anfield.

The role of understudy was shared in the recently-completed domestic campaign by Joe Gomez and James Miller following Neco Williams' loan move to Fulham.

Ramsay has just had an outstanding season at Aberdeen after graduating from their youth ranks to establish himself in the senior team.

He has already played 39 times for the club, including 33 in the 2021-22 campaign.
