Borussia Dortmund have opened talks over a double deal involving Jude Bellingham and his younger brother Jobe amid strong Liverpool interest, Football Insider has learned.

The German giants are negotiating a new contract with their midfielder Bellingham after his outstanding opening half of the season.

A German source has told Football Insider that the club are attempting to sweeten the deal for the 18-year-old and his family by also signing Birmingham City youngster Jobe, who is 16.

Dortmund regard the younger of the brothers as a major talent and also believe that signing him would convince Jude to stay.

He is a player in demand after making a huge impact at the Bundesliga outfit since signing from Birmingham for £25million plus add-ons in the summer of 2020.

The source explained that Liverpool are among the clubs who have been in touch about enticing him back to England.

Recruitment chief Michael Edwards, who leaves at the end of the season, is said to be keen to wrap up a deal for Bellingham as a farewell gift.

That has pressed Dortmund into action even though the England international has a contract that runs until 2025.

They are negotiating an extension on improved terms for the teenager, who has been one of the outstanding midfielders in this season's Bundesliga.

Bellingham has made 21 Bundesliga and Champions League starts among 24 appearances in all competitions.

They have yielded three goals and a hugely impressive nine assists from midfield.

Younger brother Jobe is still waiting for his senior Birmingham debut but has been on the bench for three matches, including their Championship clash against Coventry City last month.
