Liverpool are working on signing a new goalkeeper as they prepare for Caoimhin Kelleher to leave the club, sources have told Football Insider.

The Republic of Ireland international, 25, is now keen to seal a move away from Liverpool to kick-start a career as a first-choice goalkeeper - and Premier League clubs could join Celtic in registering their interest in a potential deal.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 June) that Celtic will find it hard to meet Liverpool's valuation of goalkeeper Kelleher this summer.

It is believed the Scottish Premiership champions are plotting a move worth up to £10million.

Meanwhile, third-choice Reds star Adrian, 37, is out of contract later this month.

Both players are firmly behind Brazil international Alisson Becker in the pecking order at Anfield as Arne Slot starts work on Merseyside.

Liverpool want goalkeeper deal with Kelleher and Adrian set to quit

Slot and director of football Richard Hughes started work in recent days and are already scouring the market for a potential new signing between the sticks.

Kelleher made 26 appearances across all competitions for Liverpool in the 2023-24 campaign, keeping five clean sheets and conceding 32 goals.

He has been at the club for nine years and rose through the ranks to become a trusted member of Jurgen Klopp's first team.

Meanwhile, Adrian failed to appear in the 2023-24 campaign.

Liverpool will play Champions League football under Slot next term after securing a third-place finish.

The Reds will need to draft two new goalkeepers into their first-team squad if both Kelleher and Adrian seal moves away - with Harvey Davies and Fabian Mrozek currently among the options in the Under-21s.
