Man City have joined Liverpool in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Youssoufa Moukoko, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League champions are targeting the forward, 17, as they look to follow up their capture of Erling Haaland the signing of his teammate from last season.

City's recruitment team are keeping close tabs on Moukoko at a time when he is attracting interest from the world's elite.

Intriguingly, the teenage sensation has agreed to join England-based agency Unique Sports Management when he turns 18 on 20 November.

USM, whose star clients include Reece James and Anthony Gordon, have a firm plan in place for the wonderkid, who is regarded as one of the world's hottest young talents.

Moukoko is firmly on the radar of City scouts charged with finding the best youngsters on the planet.

In addition to Liverpool, it is believed that Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring the young forward.

He became the youngest player in Bundesliga history when, just after his 16th birthday, he replaced Haaland as a late substitute on 21 November, 2020.

Moukoko has continued to develop quickly and has already accumulated 55 appearances for Dortmund, where he is firmly established as a regular starter.

Operating in the centre-forward role, he started and played 82 minutes of last week's 0-0 Champions League draw against Man City.

Moukoko has made 18 appearances in all competitions this term, scoring four goals – all in the Bundesliga – and supplying six assists.
