Rangers enforcer Russell Martin is an injury doubt for the Old Firm clash with Celtic, according to a report.

The Scottish Sun claim that the Scotland international was expected to line up at the heart of the Rangers defence, but he faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday's game.

Since joining on loan from Norwich the 32-year-old has made eight appearances for Graeme Murty's side.

Football Insider verdict:

This would be a big blow for Murty, with Martin a key part of the team's revival since the turn of the year. In the seven games he's played in the league since joining the club, Rangers have won six and he's helped secure three clean sheets. There is some good news though. Murty might well have the hugely experienced enforcer Bruno Alves to turn to if Martin is ruled out and having a big-game player like that on the pitch could actually help the Rangers side in an atmosphere that is going to call for calm heads.
