Matt O'Riley: Celtic in talks over record-breaking deal - sources
Celtic are holding out for a £25million fee for Matt O’Riley this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Hoops have rejected a new Atalanta bid during talks, marking the third time that they have rebuffed the Italian side.
The latest offer was £15million plus add-ons, which some way short of what the Scottish giants' asking price.
Jota’s sale to Al-Ittihad in 2023 was completed for that price, while the Hoops charged Arsenal the same for Kieran Tierney.
O’Riley has several suitors this summer, including West Ham, Juventus, and Brighton who are monitoring him.
Celtic will demand a high fee for a key player in Matt O’Riley
Losing O’Riley would create a hole in the Celtic squad, which is why the club are demanding a high fee so they can reinvest.
O’Riley scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists in 49 appearances for the Hoops last season as the club won the Scottish Premiership.
Even though O’Riley is likely to depart the club, but the Scottish giants are working hard to ensure that Greg Taylor’s future is with them.
In other news, Celtic backed to complete "brilliant" £3.5million Bernardo deal.
