Matt O'Riley is undergoing a Brighton medical on Saturday after Celtic accepted their record-breaking bid, sources have told Football Insider.

The Premier League club have agreed a deal in principle with the Glasgow giants to sign the in-demand midfielder.

O'Riley is set to join Brighton for not only a Celtic record fee, but a Scottish transfer record.

The Scottish giants have rejected a plethora of offers throughout the summer, including five from Atalanta.

The Hoops wanted to recoup a record fee for his services, and Brighton have been willing to pay that to make it happen.

The 23-year-old has thrived during his spell with Celtic, racking up 124 games for the club since he joined in 2022 from MK Dons.

O’Riley has scored 27 goals and provided 35 assists in that time, showcasing his attacking qualities.

The Denmark international has remained a consistent presence for Celtic this season but is now set to move south of the border.

Celtic are already focusing on finding a replacement for O’Riley in the form of LAFC playmaker Mateusz Bogusz.
