Southampton have agreed a deal in the region of £10million for Man City winger Samuel Edozie, sources have told Football Insider.

City have given the forward, 19, the green light to undergo a medical on the south coast and discuss personal terms.

Southampton have already signed goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu and midfielder Romeo Lavia from City this summer.

Edozie is set to become the latest new arrival at St Mary's as the Saints work on a blizzard of late-window signings.

They are also hoping to secure midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan from Arsenal and remain keen to bring in PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo.

Signing all three players would take the number of new additions to nine at Southampton this summer.

Edozie, who made his only senior appearances as a starter in the 2021 Community Shield defeat to Leicester City, moved to Man City from Millwall in the summer of 2019.

He only has a year left to run on his contract at the Etihad.

The England youth international follows Southampton's recruitment strategy of bringing in the best young players who have not been able to get regular game time at the top clubs.

As well as newboys Bazunu and Lavia, Tino Livramento and Armando Broja enjoyed success on the south coast last season after struggling to breakthrough at Chelsea.

Southampton are up to seventh in the Premier League after recording their second win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Tuesday (30 August).
