Dundee are close to signing Rangers winger Josh McPake on loan as he prepares to undergo a medical tomorrow, Football Insider understands.

The teenage attacker, 17, has decided to make the move to the Scottish Championship outfit after talks over the weekend.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the terms of a loan move have been agreed and McPake is set to put pen to paper once he comes through his Dens Park medical.

The likes of Doncaster Rovers, Bristol Rovers, St Johnstone and Ross County have all asked about signing McPake on loan.

However, Dundee have moved quickly to agree a deal with Rangers for McPake in what they regard as a major coup.

McPake is highly regarded at Rangers after winning the club's Academy Player of the Year award last season.

The teenager impressed for Steven Gerrard's side in pre-season and made his first-team debut as a substitute in the Europa League qualifying win over St Joseph's FC last month.
