Leeds United defender Tom Pearce is undergoing a medical at Scunthorpe United ahead of a loan move, Football Insider understands.

Pearce has found his first-team opportunities limited this season under Marcelo Bielsa after breaking into the first-team last term.

The England Under-20 international impressed last season and attracted interest from Premier League clubs before eventually signing a new deal at Elland Road.

The 20-year-old has only five first-team appearances this season with Barry Douglas the established left-back in Bielsa's starting XI.

The left-back is keen to go out on loan in search of first-team action during the second half of the season and a source close to the club has told Football Insider that Scunthorpe have moved quickly to agree a deal with Leeds.

Pearce's signing is a big coup for Scunthorpe as they have beaten a host of clubs to the full-back's signature.
