Edwards has previously been credited for his role in the signings of the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk who have played key roles in Liverpool's recent success.

Zubimendi was the Reds' first-choice deep-lying midfielder for Slot's system, but his decision to remain at Real Sociedad has forced them to explore other options.
