Millwall are resigned to losing star defender Japhet Tanganga this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Promoted trio Leeds United, Sunderland and Burnley are all keen on the 26-year-old with the summer window now reopen.

Tanganga has a £1.2million release clause for top-flight clubs in his contract at Millwall - who signed him on a free transfer just last summer (2024).

The ex-Tottenham star has successfully revived his career at The Den and could now return to the Premier League.

Sources say all three promoted clubs feel Tanganga's buyout clause is a "bargain", with not many players of his pedigree available for such a low fee.

The London-born defender has already tasted Premier League football during his time at Tottenham.

He is also a versatile option, with Tanganga able to fill in at right-back as well as in the heart of the defence.

Tanganga has made 61 appearances in 18 months for second-tier Millwall, where he originally arrived on loan.

He also racked up 50 appearances for Spurs after coming through the club's academy and playing for the Lilywhites in the Champions League.
