Newcastle United will move to sign a "direct" and "lethal" right-winger after Miguel Almiron leaves the club this summer.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that Almiron could be set to leave St James' Park in a deal worth up to £30million amid interest from Saudi Arabia.

Sources say the club are already looking for a new right-sided winger and Eddie Howe will be allowed to reinvest the money from Almiron's sale.

After Paul Mitchell was confirmed as Dan Ashworth's replacement, the recruitment team at St James' Park has now begun working in the transfer market.

Newcastle United target new right-winger after Almiron exit

Almiron joined Newcastle in 2020 and played a key role as the club qualified for the Champions League in 2022-23, but they could now look to go in a new direction.

Howe is looking to strengthen his squad in a bid to become more competitive both in the Premier League and in Europe after a seventh-placed finish saw them miss out last season.

Almiron's in front of goal has been inconsistent, with 30 goals and 12 assists in 209 games since he arrived at St James' Park.

Newcastle are now targeting somebody with more consistency in the final third.

Bowen scored 20 goals in all competitions last season, earning himself a place in the England squad, while Summerville's 21 goals and 10 assists earned him the Championship Player of the Season award.
