Done deal: Central midfielder agrees terms with Rangers

Rangers young gun Cammy Palmer has signed a new deal with the club as their blizzard of contract activity continues, it has been confirmed.
The Scottish giants announced on their official academy
account on Thursday that midfielder Palmer, 17, has extended his stay at Ibrox until the summer of 2020 with a new two-and-a-half year agreement.
Palmer has been a standout for the Gers' Under-20s side during a campaign in which they have played elite English and European sides in the ambitious 'Games Programme' following a re-jig of the youth team operation at the club.
The teenager has won rave reviews for his performances after stepping up an age group and will be hoping to follow the likes of Ross McCrorie and Jamie Barjonas into the first-team squad.

There is great excitement at Rangers about the calibre of the youngsters emerging through the ranks and Palmer is among those who the club are investing great hope in the future. His new contract is a sign of the faith the hierarchy - led by director of football Mark Allen have in him - and demonstrates that new deals are not just being handed to the senior men following a blizzard of new contracts in recent weeks, with Josh Windass, James Tavernier, Alfredo Morelos and Daniel Candeias all rewarded for their impressive form. Can Palmer break through into the first team? He must bide his time, with the likes of Greg Docherty, Sean Goss, Jason Holt and Graham Dorrans all vying for places in central midfield but, if he continues his development, the teen ace can go all the way.
