Aston Villa are the current favourites to sign Man City star Omar Marmoush this month, according to the latest bookmakers' odds.

Marmoush has struggled for form at City this season after he sustained an injury on international duty with Egypt in September.

He has only scored twice in 20 appearances across all competitions, with just three league starts up to now, meaning rumours around his future are rife heading into the final week of the January window.

Sources revealed to Football Insider last month that Tottenham had set their sights on Marmoush ahead of January, but he has remained a City player so far and even netted his second of the campaign against Wolves on Saturday.

Marmoush has not been keen on joining Spurs, as revealed by Football Insider, but he could soon make the move to Villa as they lead the odds to land his services before 2 February.

Villa are currently 2/1 favourites to be Marmoush's next club

Villa have been hugely impressive under Unai Emery this season, with a 2-0 win at Newcastle on Sunday moving them to within four points of table-toppers Arsenal after their loss to Man United.

Emery recently saw his captain John McGinn ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury, and the club are known to be targeting a new addition on the wing following that blow.

Pep Guardiola has reportedly agreed to allow Marmoush to leave City on loan in the last few days, with Villa known to be interested in his services alongside a host of Premier League and European clubs.

With the race to land his signature on, Villa have been backed as the 2/1 favourites by two of the UK's leading bookmakers to be Marmoush's new club after the January window slams shut.

Who else is in the running to sign Marmoush with the bookies?

Marmoush looked to have reignited his City career with Saturday's opener against Wolves, but he could well be allowed to leave soon, with game time set to be at a premium behind Erling Haaland up front.

Spurs have been linked to the Egyptian attacker, and they come in as the second-favourites to sign Marmoush right now, at odds of 6/1.

Newcastle are also priced in the running to sign him this month, with odds of 25/1, while Chelsea are even further outsiders at 33/1.
