Alex Purver has secured a move to non-league club Guiseley a month after quitting Leeds United, it was announced today (Tuesday).

Guiseley revealed on their official

and Twitter account that the midfielder, 21, has signed a permanent contract after completing a transfer along with fellow new signings Kevan Hurst, Lee Molyneux and Frank Mulhern.

Purver was released by United at the end of June after graduating from the club's academy.

The Leeds-born player was awarded his first professional contract in the summer of 2014 and was given a new deal 12 months later.

But he was unable to make the breakthrough in the Championship club's senior side and was sent out on loan last September to National League outfit Guiseley.

Purver returned to Leeds in January when his loan expired but made his way back to Guiseley for a further loan spell towards the end of the season.

He made 26 appearances in total for the non-league side last season and made a big enough impact to be handed a permanent deal.
