Rangers could sell Cyriel Dessers in the summer amid plans for a major summer clear-out, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Gers chiefs could decide to sell the summer signing in their efforts to reshape the squad.

Dessers had a tough start to the campaign after arriving under then-manager Michael Beale for a reported fee of £4.5million from Italian outfit Cremonese.

However, he has gone on to bag 14 goals and seven assists across all competitions this season, including a brace in Rangers' recent 3-1 win against Ross County on Wednesday (14 February).

Could Cyriel Dessers depart Rangers after just one season at the club?

Regardless, it is believed that the club want to reduce the age of the squad and recruit young high-potential players, meaning the 29-year-old could depart.

Rangers are planning a significant squad change next summer to build the squad in Philippe Clement's image after his exceptional early tenure at Ibrox.

Rangers

Rangers moved level on points and goal difference with league leaders Celtic after their win against Ross County.

They are next in action against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday afternoon (18 February).
