Rangers expert suggests January signing 'plan' after Ibrox source's £80m reveal
Alan Hutton has claimed Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst will have a "plan in mind" for his January transfer business.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said that the long injury list is "not an excuse" for poor performances.
On Sunday (30 October), sources told this site that the Light Blues are set to announce club-record revenues of £80million-plus in their next set of financial results.
The latest figures would smash their 15-year record for £64.5million from the 2007-08 campaign, with a large chunk of this year's finances down to European prize money.
On 20 October, this site revealed that the Gers have set aside "significant" funds from the January budget to secure a new goalkeeper.
Hutton suggested that the cash could be used to fund transfer business in the January window.
"There is a long injury list at this moment in time, there is no getting away from that," he told Football Insider.
"It is not an excuse. They will obviously be hoping, with the winter break that is coming up that he can get a few players back. That will probably dictate his plans for the January transfer window.
"I think there is a few positions at this moment in time that he will be looking to strengthen. He will definitely have a plan in mind. He will see who can get back first and foremost and look to strengthen for the next half of the season."
