Rangers loanee Fabio Silva is not in the future plans of Wolves boss Gary O'Neil and they will accept an offer for him this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

And a well-placed source has now told Football Insider that the Molineux club could now take a "huge" loss on the Portuguese youngster this summer after signing him for a then-club-record £35million in 2019.

That would open the door for Rangers to seal a permanent move for the 21-year-old - who has made a big impression at Ibrox since joining in January.

Manager Philippe Clement already revealed he wanted to bring Silva to the club permanently in January but admitted he was “too expensive” for the Glasgow giants.

But Wolves boss O'Neil has now decided that the youngster does not have a place in his squad going forward.

Silva has notched four goals in 15 total appearances for Clement’s side this season, with seven of those outings coming as part of the starting lineup.

He had managed only five goals in 72 total appearances for Wolves since joining the club from boyhood club Porto.

The signing of Silva has helped Rangers move into contention for the Scottish Premiership title this term, with Clement's side just one point adrift of Celtic with a game in hand on their rivals.
