Rangers are ready to accept an offer for midfielder Ben Williamson before the close of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

Williamson, 21, who is currently on loan at Dundee, is in the final 18 months of his contract at Rangers and the club are unlikely to offer him a new deal.

Rangers are prepared to let Williamson move on as he does not figure in the long-term plans of Michael Beale in Glasgow.

The midfielder is in his fourth loan spell away from Ibrox having failed to break into the first-team picture at Rangers.

A number of clubs in England and Scotland are monitoring Williamson’s situation.

They include his current temporary employer Dundee, who are keen to make his loan move permanent.

Williamson has had loan stints at Arbroath, Raith Rovers and Livingston in the last couple of seasons before pitching up at Championship side Dundee this campaign.

The Scotland Under-21 international has made 18 appearances in all competitions for Dundee so far this, providing one assist from midfield.

Williamson is the latest in a long line of Rangers fringe players that they are club are prepared to move on.

Josh McPake, Kai Kennedy and Lewis Mayo are all deemed surplus to requirements at Ibrox with Rangers actively looking to find buyers for the trio after recently selling Charlie McCann to Forest Green.

Beale, who took charge at Rangers in November, has been assessing all the players currently on the books at Ibrox and he is ready to let those leave who he feels will not make the grade under him.
