Leeds United are set for a potential loan deal for Liverpool's 30-year-old keeper Adam Bogdan, according to a reliable journalist. Phil Hay from the Yorkshire Evening Post said that Sunderland fancy their keeper Andy Lonergan and that they could put in a bid before the end of the January window. He went on to say that while Leeds don't want to lose Lonergan, they could seal a deal for Bogdan from the Premier League giants on a temporary deal. Hay posted the news on his personal Twitter page on Thursday lunchtime.

In the tweet Hay also mentioned that League Two club Carlisle were looking to sign striker Malik Wilkes on loan.

Football Insider verdict:

Lonergan would be a loss to Leeds and it might bring about deja vu for Leeds fans after they lost a highly experienced goalkeeper at the end of last season. However, Bogdan would be a brilliant replacement and potentially a decent upgrade. The 30-year-old Hungarian international has made six appearances for Liverpool and is a highly-rated stopper who has vast Championship experience with Bolton. Leeds fans would be excited if this one came off.
